Their sales people don't seem to be trained at the same location. Every time I call about my billing I am told a different price and a different story. On our latest move, we were told that even though we had been on a high speed internet plan, they did not have that service in the new location, but they would shift us to the new Contour system and throw in some more premium services. My wife was there when they came to turn on the service and didn't know we were supposed to get the new Contour box and not just hook up the old box from the previous house which is what the installer did because apparently no one told him we were to be upgraded. I wouldn't care that much but the old box is pretty limited in storage space and can only record 2 shows at once.
I called and at first was told it would cost me more to get the Contour system after the original person told me it would be the same price since I was losing the high speed internet. The second guy I spoke to said it would be the same price and set up a time for the installer to put in the new box. He showed up toward the end of the window and tried to plug in the new box. After 3 hours and it still didn't work, I told him to just put back the old box so I have television to watch. Based on what he said and the comments I have read, it sound like Contour is very tempermental and they really have not worked out the bugs yet. I am leaning toward switching to Direct TV because of what everyone has told me. I just don't think Cox provides a good service anymore.
