| - It was my first time visiting Phoenix (I'm from LA), and I had just paid $10 for a pair of unbelievable Canali (Italian made) jeans at the nearby Last Chance. That, coupled with drastically cheaper gas I'd just filled my tank with, and you can only imagine the love-for-everything-Phoenix high I was riding as I entered Delux with my native-born girlfriend.
The restaurant was nicely decorated with a slightly modern/upscale feel to it. The prices were extremely CHEAP. The burger (I put my faith in the Delux burger) was unbelievable. Truly a treat, Not to mention their generous portions of fries, The cart was convenient for rolling back and forth between my girlfriend and I, and it also created the illusion of containing less delicious sweet potato/regular cut fries than it actually did. Not to mention the great thousand island that was served in a sauce dish along with the burger and its nicely plated garnish. My girlfriend ordered the Vegetable Panini (after threatening to order a regular green salad for 10 dollars at the burger place she bragged about) at the last minute, and I was irate with her after she continued to ask for bites of my burger and expressed disappointment with her sandwich (which I later thought was pretty good after trying it, but nothing compared to the burger).
The bad part: Our server was absolutely terrible. Maybe he had something going on in his life, maybe he's just a poor server, but we deserved more attentive service than we received. It all seemed to stop after our food came, without so much as a water refill. However, all around great, upscale burgers at good prices. I will definitely be back.
