I decided to go to nailsense after seeing so many stellar reviews. I've been here twice, both times getting a shellac french manicure. For those who said they encountered a rude man at the front desk, I did as well on both occasions. Not exactly the best first impression. I don't pay money to be treated like crap.
Nobody aside from the rude man at the desk spoke a single word to me. The nail technicians didn't look at me even once, (I've been with three. The first visit I had one, the second time I began with one and then she switched with another half way through), not a hello, not a smile, nothing. This only supported that "you're not welcome here" vibe that I already got from the rude guy. They had no problem whispering and giggling among themselves though. I expected the whole experience to be fun and relaxing, but it was just tense. I couldn't wait to get out of there.
The manicure itself was decent, although on both occasions I had a nail chip within 3 days (I didn't bother going back to have it re-done). My only major complaint is that my nails were filed down too much. I typically keep my nails long and nicely filed, so that I have plenty of length to make a french manicure look good. Despite this the technicians filed my nails right down to the skin. I found this totally unnecessary and see no point of getting a french manicure if my nails are going to be super short. Definitely won't be back to this place again.
