| - We came to Cowabunga Bay during our vacation, we love water parks and were really excited to try this one out.
We got to the park about 10 minutes before it opened and there was already a line forming. Parking is $7 so be prepared to pay. I bought 'Pogo Passes' (like a city pass) on Groupon for everyone in my family, the pass was the same price as the park admission plus came with passes to other establishments - well worth it.
We also rented the VIP Cabana, if it's in your budget ($190) I highly recommend it. This made checkin easy, your waitress will show you to your cabana. The VIP Cabanas come with a a private VIP pool (has a large 'single step' for your little ones to play), ceiling fan, seating, fridge (we brought bottled water), a safe for your valuables, and you get a waitress so you don't have to wait in line for food in the heat.
The food was priced like expected, about $9 for a chucked BBQ wrap, but wasn't bad tasting. Our waitress (Brooke) was amazing! I read some of the other reviews that it was hard getting served, Brooke was very responsive and sweet as sugar! I recommend requesting her!
The slides were fun. The Big Wave (large blue slide) was really exciting. I will say, if you're an adult to lift your booty when you get dropped into the big open area. There are grates on the floor, both my husband and I hit them and it felt like we got kicked. The American Slide was definitely our fav! When you go down it, lift the front of your pad with your arms and you'll make it to the bottom. Tons of people weren't doing this and didn't make it if the 3rd hill, so they had to do the 'walk of shame'. Also, make sure you have flip-flops or water socks, the ground and stairs are HOT!
Overall we had a wonderful time. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of variety of things to do for all ages!
