  • I was impressed with the spring training home to both the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds. We came for a Sunday day game to see the split squad Tribe against the Milwaukee Brewers. The weather was close to perfect and the atmosphere was relaxed, especially with the players, who were readily available before the game to sign autographs and even to converse with us. This is a modern facility where field level is below ground level which allows for bowl seating and unobstructed views from anywhere. There is minimal coverage from the sun so bring a cap on/or sunscreen. As far as food, there is no shortage. You can get a taste of Cleveland on the first base side with the 1901 Charter Grill where you can grab a Cleveland Polish Boy. Or you can get a taste of Cincinnati at the Queen City Grill on the third base side where you can grab some Skyline Chili or a Skyline Cheese Coney. There is also an $18 AYCE option. Along with a mini field for the kids on the first base side lawn, there are 5 or 6 cornhole boards in the lawn on the third base side. The team shop is in the concourse behind home plate and the inventory of gear is pretty extensive. Also worthy of note, the field box seats in section 120 and 121 are at field level, but you will have to contend with netting to look through. But I guess that's better than having to eat a line drive baseball for lunch. Parking is $5 and a short walk to the right field entrance. Expect major league prices for everything, including to have to pay for a game program. The Tribe lost another game late for the second day in a row but we still had a good time and I want to try and make it back here every year.
