  • I started going to Nando's way before I joined Yelp so this review slipped my mind until my most recent visit. Then I remembered that I have to give (one of) my favourite restaurant(s) a 5 star rating so everyone can enjoy it! Where do I begin...I've lived next to Nando's for about 4 years now, and every time I go back I'm blown away by how flavourful and tasty their food is. I've tried just about every item on their menu, but my ABSOLUTE favourites are: 1) chicken (duh) - get the half or quarter if you're feeling like chicken, the double skewers may be tantalizing but it's really not worth your money. 2) chicken sandwich - for only $8.55 by itself or $13.05 with TWO sides, you can't beat the price on this sandwich. The roll is one of the best breads I've ever had on a sandwich, and it really fills you up for cheap. 3) whole wheat chicken wrap - I think I love this for the sweet chilli jam and cilantro yogurt, but whatever they're putting in there it's working for me. Same price as the chicken sandwich, but I find it to be a lot more flavourful. 4) peri-peri fries - get this with the perinaise (it'll cost you an extra $1, but trust me, it's worth it). The thing about Nando's is that you order and pay up at the front counter, then they bring the food to you. You're responsible for getting your own cutlery, sauces, and drinks. This causes me some turmoil when it comes to tipping (which you are expected to do at the time of ordering), because I am a firm believer that tips are earned, not expected. If you do a good job of taking my order, bringing me my food, refilling my water and whatnot, you deserve the 15% tip. But if all you're doing is walking my plate from the kitchen to my table, then I'm not sure if they should be demanding a 15% tip up front (their tip options on their card machines are 15%, 18%, and 20%). Not the biggest deal because I really do love their food, but it bothers me a little every time I'm there. TL;DR Go to Nando's and get some chicken. You won't be disappointed. The wait times may be deterring sometimes, but just wait it out - the line moves fast and you'll soon be enjoying some juicy, mouthwatering chicken.
