  • I was searching Craigslist to find a lawn mower repair person and found Tom from Croft Mechanical. I read Yelp reviews on him and they all appeared to be good reviews so I decided to give him a try. When I first called him and described the issue I had with my lawn mowers (have two), he knew exactly what problem was-bad gas. He said carburetor would need to be cleaned out. It occurred to me that I did have a gas can with a tiny hole in gas cap that I was concerned that when it rained that water could have gotten into the gas, but everyone assured me the hole was too tiny for rain to get through hole. I had another gas can full of gas that I had been using and put the other gas can with hole in cap in a place far away from lawn mowers. One of my son's friends started helping me mow the lawn, and although the gas can with good gas was close to lawn mowers and the gas can with tiny hole in cap was sort of hidden away, he had found the gas can with hole in cap and had been using that gas instead. I only discovered this after Tom told me he thought issue with lawn mowers was bad gas. I took the newest lawn mower to Tom to fix. He cleaned out carburetor and it works perfect. He even put on another handle on mower because he said the one that was on it, didn't fit. The one that was on it was a replacement handle and I guess I had ordered the wrong one. Anyways, if you need your lawn mower repaired, Tom is the one to go to. He is very personable and you will not be disappointed. I know for sure when my lawn mowers need repair or maintenance, Tom is the one I will be taking my lawn mowers to.
