I've changed my original here based on recent events.
3/24 and 3/25 I took my dog here and both days he was almost bitten by other dogs while simply greeting them calmly. My dog is a friendly, playful frenchie who loves other dogs.
Below are some of the unbelievable events:
I had one owner tell me her dog is aggressive towards frenchies when we walked in (why is your dog here, lady??). She proceeded to almost kick my frenchie out of her dogs way .. um no. She later sat with her dog on a leash.
Another owner sat there as their dog snarled and snapped at mine, and just said to him in a baby voice "okaayyyyy". I'm thinking No not ok. Take him home please.
Yet another dog parent of a little Boston terrier told me plainly that his dog "isn't well socialized and doesn't like other dogs" as he stood there throwing her a ball. Really??? My dog tried to play with her (naturally, it's a DOG PARK) and of course he was snarled at. My dog tried to get her to play with him and was snapped at while the Boston owner stood there doing nothing. The owner made no move to take her home. Why was she there???
I was the one who had to make the decision to leave!?
Another set of dog parents announced while coming into the park with their dachshunds that one of them "doesn't like when other dogs get too close". What???? Then please leave that dog at home.
So I ask you dog owners with poorly socialized and semi dog aggressive dogs, WHY do you think it's ok to take your dogs to the DOG PARK???
Really??
