My husband took me to the murder mystery dinner for my birthday and I was incredibly excited....what a let down!! The acting was pretty good but show itself was just okay, not as "mysterious" as I had anticipated. I thought that the audience interaction would be a bit more applicable to the plot line, but, alas, they would have random dance competitions, and cheesy jokes and come-ons/sexual innuendo interrupting any true mystery. The whole murder aspect seemed like an afterthought added to the end. I am all about a good drag queen but during our show, it was clear that the character in drag was making a man in the audience incredibly uncomfortable....she straddled and humped him and made him motorboat her "girls." This went on for a few minutes too long. Awkward.
The food was cafeteria-esque (okay) but the service was quite possibly, the worst we have ever had. There was a waitress taking drink orders and the food and drinks were supposed to be served by the actors throughout the show. Our table received water after the 1st intermission and NEVER received our drink orders (we asked/politely reminded 3-4 times with no avail). We also never got bread, which they ran out of, in addition to the cake we were supposed to be served. This was odd, as we had to reserve our seats ahead of time. You would think that they plan accordingly. The actors were clearly too busy with the show to serve the food. I wish they had charged $5 more per person and hired on another person for the wait staff.
We should have known that the somewhat low price for dinner and a show would speak volumes about its quality.
