I have never seen a concert at HOB, so my rating is only for the restaurant. I have eaten here twice for lunch both times I was not picking up the check, and both times I have been disappointed. The lunch menu is large, but not really inspired and overpriced in my mind. Our service was decent the first time and horrible this last time. It took so long for our food to come out (over 45 minutes) that one of my co-workers had to get his boxed up to go. I appreciate that we had a large group, but a 30-45 minute gap from beverages to the lunch being served is ridiculous. Also one of the members of our team is a vegetarian, and she wanted a salad (she really had no other option), however the salad she wanted came with steak on it, so she asked for it to be removed and to not be charged for it. The server said that just couldn't be possible, served her the steak and suggested that she share it with the group. Weird, and rude in my opinion.
All in all after two bad showings, the House of Blues is off of my list of possible downtown destinations.
