| - Where do I start? They checked my front and rear brakes and didn't try to sell me more than I needed-which was a $44 cleaning and adjustment. So, that's a plus.
Then they diagnosed something else AND quoted a cheaper price than other places. Another plus.
So, they call me after 5 on Friday and tell me it's ready and I can come and get it. I show up at 10:30 the next morning, pay for it, and THEN Jim says that all that's left to do is for them to test drive it. Is he serious?? BIG negative. They told me 15 hours before that it was READY. I say that I need to go to work and I need the keys. Okay, thenJim covers up a sheet of paper and wants me to sign it (this is after I have already paid in full) I ask him what it is and he starts to fumble. I take the sheet out of his hand, and it's a release and permission that is very different from an authorization for work to be performed. I read it twice and tell him that I'm not signing it. Why would I sign ANYTHING that makes no sense? So I leave with my keys. End of act I.
Act II-- It's several hours later and a friend and I go to pick up the vehicle.
To start with, the steering problem that I paid almost $400 to fix, well, it's not exactly fixed. More like improved. The jury is still out on this. I will update more thoroughly later. Ready for the REALLY BIG DEAL??
I start to smell antifreeze. I start to get really hot. No big deal, I'm a block from home, although it is confusing-that's not a problem I've had before . I park, and suddenly there is a geyser! A flood! There is water SHOOTING AND SPRAYING EVERYWHERE.
They never put my radiator cap back on after pressure testing my cooling system.
So, I haven't called them yet. Waaaay too angry. If they give me a gallon of a good brand of antifreeze and a new radiator cap, I MAY forgive them.
Meanwhile, the search for a mechanics shop goes on....
Act III----The next day (Friday):
I decided to have AAA tow it to them. Jim gave me a little flack/backtalk when I told him that for all my trouble, they needed to bring the truck BACK TO me when it was refilled and had a radiator cap in place--I only live a mile and a half away. So, next morning (Saturday), I call and find out WHY it's taking a whole day to refill my radiator and put a cap on, and I speak to Chris. Apparently Chris is above Jim.
Discount Brake Tune n' lube flushed my radiator, refilled it, put on a new cap, DELIVERED the truck (DARN TOOTIN'!!) and then Chris told me to bring my other vehicle in for a complimentary oil change for my trouble. probably because the truck had been done for AGES and JIM DIDN'T call me.
As I said to CHRIS, accidents happen. It's how a business redeems itself that matters. Jim doesn't get my vote here, but Chris does and MAYBE Discount as well.
Refer back to this review later to see if my complimentary oil change goes off without a hitch. For now, 3 stars.

Turns out that my power steering ISN'T fixed, and they charged me $368 plus fees and tax for something I didn't need. I'm not going back.
