I stopped over here since I had some time to kill before the elementary school office opened for me to get my tickets to Riverview's musical. The ice cream stand is located in the heart of Oakmont's business district and are open year round.
All ice cream is made on site and you are permitted samples. I was tempted to get the apple dumpling sundae but knew it would be too much for me. I decided to go with the blueberry pie ice cream. A picture board shows you the different sizes and a small cone or cup is usually two scoops. Prices are very reasonable even though it is cash only.
The ice cream comes with delicious pie pieces inside. I also had sampled the black raspberry and although it was good there really wasn't anything spectacular about it.
Plenty of free onsite parking is available along with picnic tables for enjoying your ice cream in warmer weather. There is a restroom but a sign is noted on it "not for public use."
Brr-Kee's sells a list of regular flavors along with specialty flavors one of which I enjoyed as mentioned above. They are located on the south side of the railroad tracks near a couple of restaurants I hope to visit and close to the site of the previous location of Oakmont Bakery.
It appears to be the only ice cream shop I noticed in the Oakmont business district and is worth a stop if you find yourself in the area. Next visit I will look into seeing if they have a rewards program.
