| - Went here because it was the closet place during a medical emergency but I have regretted that decision ever since: it was a terrible experience. There is no privacy during triage which could only serve to discourage and intimidate patients who are already vulnerable and not at their optimum states of mind.Quite frankly, it feels like a people mill as opposed to a healthcare facility . After getting EKG, blood work and an X-Ray I was taken back to the lobby despite feeling weak and tired so I got as comfortable as I could on the waiting room chairs instead of a bed. After about 20 minutes lying down and finally getting warm in the arctic setting, I was rudely approached by the security shard and asked what I was doing there, then asked to leave one second later before I could even respond to the question. I quickly realized I was being racially profiled and asked to leave by a knockoff elderly rent-a-guard who accused me of loitering despite the 3 hospital bracelets and blood pressure cuff on my arm. Getting him to back off was a daunting task considering the state of my health, the general profundity of my obvious status as a "patient" and the fact that I was brought to the lobby by staff members. I'm sure the timeless "mistaken identity " rhetoric would be the response had there been any semblance of professionalism or an apology but as incompetence goes, Sunrise maintained that low standard throughout my visit. The doctor's bedside manner, empathy and attention were absent, the nurse was a loud mouthed walking negative vibe, and I felt uncomfortable as I was forced to bear witness to what should have been other patient's private medical information. I guess Sunrise got a HIPAA waiver. The only person that was professional was the x-ray technician, an affable blond whose name I don't recall, unfortunately. This ER is a joke and exemplifies everything that is wrong with the healthcare system because, as sure as the sun rises, the exorbitant bills will be arriving any minute now. Unless you have NO OTHER OPTIONS, stay away from this virtual death trap. If not physically, a piece of your soul will die at the prospect that this place is allowed to operate in our city! Sorely disappointed!
