I was quite looking forward to staying at this hotel but it ended up being a little bit of a let down. The positives were the lobby is undoubtedly grand, the room was spacious, and the service at the front desk is top notch (more on that below). The negatives were the room furnishings (somewhat worn and overall uninspired) and the noise due to ongoing construction. It was b/c of the noise that we be asked to be moved to another Starwood property in the same category (we were staying using points). The front desk was gracious and even offered to move us to another room on a higher floor before we ultimately decided to switch hotels (which ended up being the right move for us to enjoy the rest of our trip).
In short, although I do like classic hotels, this hotel in its current incarnation was not for us.
