  • Since discovering the wonderful perks many professional/license beauticians lives in, I've looked at Sally Beauty Supply differently. I was an avid customer of the salon based store for many years. It was until about a year ago that things changed. I family friend of mine is a license cosmetologist and is able to shop at various salon based supply store that is not open to general public. She took me with her shopping one day for some hair supplies and my goodness has things changed for me. I quickly realized how overpriced Sally products were as well as the limit number of products they sell. It is not an exaggeration when I say for products sold at Sally are a good 30%+ more than at a professional supply store for things like shampoo and conditioners. Something tells me that this is not something they fully control however. Speaking more so to the store, they sell beauty supplies including, hair, nails, makeup and salon essentials like hair dryers and even shampoo sinks/chairs, etc. Staff for the most part are always helpful and ask (several times) if you need help finding anything. While I hardly ask for help, I've heard/seen other customers gets assistance and I must say, I wasn't too impressed. If you're unsure of the answer to something, just say it. I'd rather for you to be honest then have me buy a product that isn't what I am looking for or will damage my hair. There are some sales reps, mostly the veterans, who seem to have a better understanding of the products so I don't want to make it sound as if Sally staff isn't well education. Some are more than others as I think is the case for a lot of stores and business. Taking all of that in, I do like Sally. There are some products I refuse to purchase from them because said products are much cheaper at other places. I've found that their rewards point system really doesn't get you any perks which is a disappointment but when I shop there, it's typically for a selected few items that hardly ever go on sale. So... will you see me shopping at Sally in the future? Yes.
