  • People seem to love the happy hour here, which doesn't surprise me since the prices seem super reasonable (by Vegas standards). But what about if you're paying full-pn double baller retail? Still pretty fabulous!!! Spicy tuna on crispy sticky rice - I think Koi (with a location right across the street) is the original, but the version here was even better. It was perfect - spicy, crispy, chewy, contrasty, yummy with a different note from baby cilantro ad a sliver of jalapeƱo. Hamachi with jalapeno was a touch different also, the sliver of pepper deep fried. It was (rather surprisingly) a nice generous portion, and the fish was pristine. The shishito peppers were the usual fun tasty game of palette roulette but they had an added element which the menu said was lemon miso. Not sure I got the lemon note, but it was really good. And finally the duck buns, hoison sauced duck on chewy bao buns with pickled cucumbers, are divine. Good sake list, some interesting cocktails, and very attentive service round out what was an almost perfect experience. The down sides: the salad dressing on the house salad was grotesque - they'd be far better off using bottled ginger dressing. And the usual Vegas WTF over music - house-trance club music blasting throughout the restaurant with no refuge (maybe under the tables?) - what's up with that? If you're dropping $125+ per head on dinner is it really necessary to try and annoy you so you want to get up and go ASAP (that seems to be the Vegas dining plan). But all in all a great place - based on this a notch better than Koi or Nobu.
