| - First, I'll say that I've probably never had a haircut this good - or that a haircut this good is at least extremely rare. I've certainly never had such a great beard trim and shave. So why two stars?
Unfortunately, Elliott is not possessed of good time management skills. Despite having had an appointment each of the several times I've been in, I was seen at least 15 minutes late every time, and more frequently 30 or more minutes late. While he offers a fantastic product, it's just an absolutely frustrating experience for someone (like me) who runs a tight schedule.
The scheduling problem is exacerbated by the fact that Elliott *takes his time.* Now, if you're in the chair, that's good for you. If you're waiting - and already 20 minutes behind - it's just more frustration.
Be extremely cautious about using other people at the shop. Craig seems to do well, although I've never had him do my hair; they had a female barber at one point who was just awful. I left with razor burn all over my neck and a crooked beard that took two weeks to grow back in. Unfortunately, having other competent barbers on staff is the only way Elliott can grow and mitigate his own scheduling problems.
On the plus side, if you can deal with a 'flexible' schedule, you'll get a great service for a reasonable price; $50 for haircut and beard trim is far better than the $50+ 30-minute haircut offered by salons like American Male here in town (and they're not even barbers). A $25 haircut is completely reasonable, and far superior to what you'd get for $15 at a Super Cuts or something. Provided, of course, you're not on a tight schedule.
