  • Good drinks, good seating, good promos, and viable parking. I'm sold. Three Sheets Craft Beer Bar is a new bar in the Arts District, and it's actually the second location of a bar from Dublin. No, not across the pond, but the one in the Bay Area of California. They're exactly what they advertise: you'll find craft beer, and you'll be three sheets to the wind afterward. Visiting during the evening, I was able to park about half a block south on the street without issue, and perhaps I could've parked outside Vesta Coffee Roasters across the street had I been luckier. Their experience shines through in all aspects. The venue has plenty of seats outside, inside at the simple and functional downstairs bar (with 30 beers on tap), and in the upstairs bar (24 of those beers) and patio. They have zero mass-market water-masquerading-as-beer products, so if you're a newbie or even if you're not the most prolific craft beer connoisseur ever, be prepared to try something new for around $6-8 for most full pours, with free samples within reason. They don't do food themselves, but there's food within walking distance and they'll sometimes partner up with food trucks. When I visited last night, they were running two promos. One was a partnership with local Henderson boys Bad Beat Brewing, where the first 20 or so purchases of full pours of their beers came with a free pint glass with Bad Beat logo. More glassware for my at-home enjoyment? Sweet! The second promo was called "High Rollin' " and seems to be run on Thursday nights 6-10pm. For all full pours, you get one chance to roll a die. Even numbers save you 50% off that pour, and odd numbers mean nothing except that you'll have to buy another drink and try again. I made 2 purchases and managed to roll one even number, so that's a darn good deal with expected value superior to happy hour ($1 off Mon-Thu 4-6pm, and also during Golden Knights games). Beers were fresh and served at the right temperature, which means cold but not too cold. I tried the following during my visit: Bad Beat's The Heater: as yummy as it was at the brewery's taproom, with a pleasantly spicy and rich flavor in that stout Revision's Double IPA: a recent silver medal winner at the 2018 World Beer Cup in a field of 196 Imperial IPAs. Traditionally hoppy and not so bitter, some tropical notes, but a notch or two below my faves in that style. Joseph James's Imperial Smoked Porter w/ Vanilla: bourbon from barrel-aging and vanilla came through for me more than the typical coffee character of a porter. Still really great though. I'm quite impressed with the variety and value which I've already seen at Three Sheets, and I'll definitely have to come back soon to enjoy more craft brews and to roll more dice. It's a centrally located bar with an accessible location and it's run by beer lovers for beer lovers.
