  • What a delightful State Street shop! I had to check this place out after Pop Deluxe's awning was converted to Madison Modern Market. It was a shame to see Pop Deluxe leave the community, but it's hard to be disappointed to see a staple shop freshen up and become more approachable. Product selection ranges from children's items (including an entire section of coordinating SkipHop) to higher-end kitchen and drinking items. There is a little bit something for everyone: I even did most of my holiday shopping here, and I covered just about everyone on my list. Prices are appropriate, but it adds up when you have arms full of fun flasks, greeting cards, and sweet postal-like tote bags. There are even a couple of cases of super unique and versatile jewelry that are *DUHN DUHN DUUUUHN!* LOCALLY MADE, which I'm all about. It seems like product selection is updated pretty frequently; they always have something I haven't seen. I've become fond of dropping in when I'm in the area, and even if I'm not in the market for anything, I find myself wanting something or another. BONUS POINTS: The staff is friendly, approachable (awesome for a boutique-ier shop), and super knowledgable about their selection. Negatives: I spent my whole paycheck. :(
