| - I went paddleboarding for the first time, and I was really impressed with Las Vegas SUP Kayak Club. We got a great deal on Groupon and called and made a reservation because we were afraid it might get really busy on the weekends.
Parking was weird. Your GPS will take you to this small lot near the dock, but the security guard there said it was only for a specific shop and redirected us back towards the big hotel. I ended up getting lost in a parking garage, losing patience, parking at the hotel on the other side of the lake and just schlepping across the bridge to the dock, but I'm positive there is a better method.
The dock it's on also has businesses that offer speed boats, jet skis, and those water jet pack things, which I thought would be a big pain because of all the waves they create, but it wasn't too bad. Las Vegas SUP Kayak Club had a selection of kayaks and dragon boats so there were quite a few recreational activities to choose from overall. The guy who helped us into the water was super nice and gave us some great instructions, and for first timers, neither of us fell, which I think says a lot. The business seems to offer a lot of fun activities (including full moon paddles), and I definitely look forward to trying them out again.
One thing I would note is that there isn't a place to store your belongings. They have some covered tents they sit at on the dock and everyone left their bags piled up there, and we didn't have any problems with anything getting lost, but I wouldn't bring anything too expensive, just in case!
