| - My husband and I recently got married here. I remember browsing for chapels years ago when my sister was thinking of eloping (she ended up marrying in our hometown), and this chapel stuck out in my mind. After I got engaged, I didn't have to look into the other chapels. This was the one.
When I started wedding planning, the staff couldn't have been any more patient or helpful. They answered all of my questions and made sure that we were pleased. Our wedding planner, Robin, couldn't have been sweeter. She made sure to return every phone call and email, and when we finally met her in person the day before the wedding, she ended our visit with hugs. Silly to some, but I thought it was very sweet.
We signed up for the marriage license service, and I do recommend this service. The limo driver picked us up from our hotel, drove us to the Marriage License Bureau downtown (tip: apply for your license ahead of time online, this will save you lots of time! And bring cash), then he picked us up again to take us to the chapel for a tour, then back to the hotel.
The day before the wedding, we arranged for the tux and gown rental service, and the people at Ilene's were busy, but extremely friendly and helpful. I'm a woman of size, and Kirsten was very patient in having me try on close to 6 gowns and doing the alterations. I'm also petite, and I happened to pick a gown with lots of organza, which needed to be hemmed. I don't know much about fabrics, but I know it had to be a pain to hem, and I am very grateful! My lucky then-fiance picked out his tux in less than 10 minutes. Guys.
The day of the wedding, I arranged for the Glam Squad to do my hair and makeup, since we were having photos taken. Ayanna did an amazing job on my makeup, and Alex did a fantastic job on my hair, both of them doing exactly what I wanted. Then the limo picked both of us up, in tux and gown, and we headed to the chapel. Jean, our wedding consultant, couldn't have been more warm and kind. She even helped safety pin part of my gown to my bustier when my dress started to slip (whoops!)
Our minister Randy really made the ceremony all our own. He said very beautiful things, and made us feel like family. We requested a civil ceremony, and he respected our wishes and made us feel at ease. When we booked the chapel, the Magnolia chapel had not yet been renovated. We married after the renovation, and it is absolutely beautiful! Light pink overtones, crystal, and subtle.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of our photographers (I'm so sorry!), but they did fantastic work! They made sure to capture some gorgeous moments. I'll be real: I don't consider myself to be photogenic, but when we saw the photos at our photo appointment the following day (I also arranged the limo service for this, as well), I was incredibly proud of how they turned out.
If you're looking for a classic wedding venue, whether it's intimate (it was just my husband and me) or with guests, and a place that really makes you feel welcome, I highly recommend Chapel of the Flowers.
To any other engaged couples out there, congratulations! And give Chapel of the Flowers a tour, you will not be sorry!
