| - Let me start off by saying I created a Yelp account just to write this review. Hoping to save a few people some time and money...
I went to Perfect Teeth for the first time earlier this month after an insurance change. After having my examination, I was told I needed a few cavities filled, a crown, and a special treatment for periodontal disease which requires coming to the office every 3 months...Almost $1,000 worth of work. I was very surprised by this considering I had gone to the same dentist for 8 years and had kept up with regular cleanings/exams. I had a feeling something was off and decided to contact my dentist who said "unless something drastic had changed since my last cleaning, the work did not sound warranted." So, I brought my x-rays and chart from Perfect Teeth to my dentist and got my teeth cleaned/examined. Come to find out, my cavities did not need to be filled as they "had not gone past the first layer" and could be alleviated by simple brushing and flossing, I did not need a crown, and I did not have periodontal disease and could just have regular cleanings. I understand doctors can have a difference of opinion, but this just seems suspicious to me, especially given the amount of money involved.
I will give them credit though that they immediately gave me charts upon request and were very nice during my visit.
Some advice...If you require a ton of costly work, get a second opinion and double check with your previous dentist.
