| - In February of 2012, we brought our 99' chevy silverado in to their store to have the brakes checked. Symptoms we described to them was slight pulsation and noise, low pedal. They checked it out, called us to tell us it needed all new rotors (4), pads(4), and calipers (4). They gave us a quote, and we agreed to have it done. Came back to pick it up and pay our bill, and I noticed that they only replaced the rear calipers, and left the front ones on. The price was the same on our bill that they quoted over the phone. So, I really had no grounds to fight them on--since it was the same. Drove the truck, and the pedal was still low. Took it back up that day, and they checked it out. Guys at the front claimed the calipers needed time to adjust, and that I would have a full pedal within a few days. Turns out they were right. I was excited, and even thought about sending them a card, because they did such a nice job of checking it right out the second time we came in. Fast-forward to April 17th, 2012, and I have been experiencing the same pulsations, vibrations from the brake pedal. Almost like the truck did not want to stop. I thought, nah, this can't be right. We just paid a few bucks shy of $1000.00 to have the brakes fixed. I should mention I work from home, and do not drive the truck only a few times a week to the gas station or to get groceries. So, today, April 24th, 2012, I am pulling into a parking spot at a local CVS and the brakes do the weird pulsating, vibration thing again, except this time I don't stop and I go up over the curb towards a very busy road. I'm freaked out and shaking. I decide to take it back to Parrish-McIntyre, as obviously there is still something very wrong with the brake system. I go in, tell them what happened, they run and get their mechanics to take a look. They come back out with, oh it's the ABS system kicking in because one of your front wheel bearings are bad. We do not know which one it is, but there is some play that is causing the ABS to kick on while stopping. I then state well this is the same problem that we were having before and you claimed you fixed it. They wanted me to pay another $600.00 and up to have both bearings replaced, which would fix the problem. I told them absolutely not. I then used the analogy that if I were having a heart attack and went to the hospital--they gave me nitro and stopped it. Then sent me home without further diagnosing the root of the problem, who's at fault? If I have another heart attack, should I sue the doctor since they did not run any further tests--well your heart attack stopped--you're good to go. They then pulled out the mechanics notes from the first time we came there, and showed me the back. At the very bottom in the exhaust section of the graphic organizer (I'm a teacher---I don't have any money---can you tell) there was a note saying something could be potentially wrong with my ABS. So, they claimed that I should have been told this when I came to pick the truck up the first time. They "normally" go over the mechanics findings. Liars. I have two witnesses who came in with me to pick the truck up. They never mentioned the ABS problem. They made it a point to tell me that the front right inner tie-rod was going bad, but not the ABS. So, it's not their fault that I am having a major issue. Then, after I told them I would like the keys to my vehicle back, and that I did not want any work done at their shop, they still wanted to keep going over how they warned me of the ABS problem. Really? So, your mechanics make it a point to normally write random brake system issues in exhaust boxes? When there is a ton of brake work being done and written about in the brake system box. You scribbled that in, and frankly the hand-writing does not mach, either. I cannot understand for the life of me how these "men" sleep at night knowing they are ripping people off. Good people. Hard-working people. Throughout the whole time at the store, I never raised my voice. I never cussed at them. Don't go to this shop for work. They are shady. I promise you that there is definitely a more competent shop that will treat your life (no brakes=wreck) with more respect.
