  • This little place in NoDa is SO COOL. Having recently moved to Charlotte, my girlfriend and I noticed the lines coming out of the store when we were here a few months ago searching for apartments. After our first trip to Popbar I'm very happy to say we are only a 5 minute walk from the place! Our first experience was on a Saturday night around 7 p.m. so we expected some crowd. There was a line in the store past the popbar counter, register, and on towards the back. We happily filed in to the back of the line where we had some time to check out the menu on our phones and talk about what we were going to get. The 15 minute or so line ensured we went back and forth a dozen times. There's different kinds of pops you can get, including gelato, sorbet, and a popwich (think an ice cream sandwich on a stick). It's fun because you can put together whatever combination of flavors you want! When we finally got to the front, it was an easy enough process letting the employees know what we wanted. My first ever Popbar was a cookies and cream popgelato that was fully dipped in milk chocolate and then covered with waffle cone. I could have gone MUCH bigger but figured since I live so close and will be back soon, I might as well keep it semi-tame on the first go-round. My popbar was soooo goooood. You could taste all the cookie pieces in the popgelato bar and that coupled with the chocolate and waffle cone made it amazing. My girlfriend got one of the popular choices, strawberry dipped in milk chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate. I had one bite of hers and the flavor hit me right in the face. I actually might have liked that one even more! If you're in NoDa and you've got some time to kill and are wanting a tasty (and semi-healthy) treat, THIS IS THE PLACE TO STOP. I can't wait to take some of my out of town friends here because I know they'll love it.
