| - We were so very sad when this placed closed earlier this year. And at the time, it was closed for good. So, my family was very happy to hear, out of the blue, it reopened about 4 or 5 months later.
There were some upgrades to the atmosphere and but basically still the same layout and feel. Everyone looked to be new to us and only a couple of the waiters were carried from the restaurant before the closure. However, the new manager claim that nothing had changed, he stressed it the same restaurant and menu. Hmm...
No comment on the service since, it was none existence that night. Clearly, the management and wait staff were still trying to figure this out. No one said running a restaurant is easy or straightforward. The challenges and difficulties can be very overwhelming especially for noobies...
So the dim sum was mostly the same but changed a bit. The overall menu changed slightly but mostly the same but some noticeable changes to some of our favorite.
The taste and texture of the dishes mostly did change, not quite as good, definitely not as familiar.
Most alarming, I asked the new manager for some chili oil which I did not see on any tables. The manager told me to hold while he would grab some Sriracha...? I asked again for traditional chili oil and he responded to me that Sriracha is better.... whatever! If I can't get chili oil for my dumplings and dim sum dishes then I would rather not go that the restaurant.
I hoping the new(old?) management have worked out all it bugs and maybe the food prep as well as. I will try this place again because I am pulling for Dim Sum and want to have at lease some descent dim sum in Charlotte.
