Food Truck Eats 3 was held in the South parking lot of the Distillery and matched hours with Nuit Blanche. Decided to arrive at 2am to see how things fared six hours in; I was a little saddened to see that at least half the vendors had already packed up. So, for me that's a minus star right there.
Still, not a total wash. Worthy of mention are: Buster Rhino's smoked jalapeno poppers (really good - took 20 of 'em home as they were packing up), the chowder from the Tempered Chef, and the black bean soup from xoco cava (great flavours!).
I was sad to have missed Hopgood's crew and their awesome dessert, Shriner's poporn, and El Gastranomo Vagabundo's lamb tongue.
There's a reason to be early, but I think if you're going to pimp it as an all-nighter thing, that vendors should be ready for it. Or just call it and end it early, if they're not buying in. I'm okay with that and would plan accordingly.
