| - So I came to Arrowhead Honda to have my Honda Civic serviced. Somehow I had managed to short out my headlights, and I couldn't get them to turn off. I eventually resigned myself to bringing my car into the dealer, because I figured electrical issues would be handled best by the dealer. When I arrived, there was a bit of a line, but it wasn't very bad. I had to wait only a couple minutes before someone came to ask about my car. They were very polite, the service is general was nice. They informed me that there would be a $120 (I think that was the amount) diagnostic fee, but if they found a problem and you fixed it there, then the fee would be waived. I knew the headlights were giving me a problem, so I had no issue with that. About 2 hours after I dropped my car off I received a call from the service department informing me that the headlights were indeed bad, and I would have to get a relay switch replaced to the tune of $156. Again that pretty much exactly was I was expecting so no surprise. They then informed me that I had a front and back engine mount that needed replacing, as they were both cracked. It was going to cost about $500 to replace that, they also told me my brakes were bad and wanted to replace them for ~$219. I don't know much about engine mounts, but it seemed serious enough that I asked them to replace it. The brakes I figured I would just take to my regular mechanic, since I know he does it cheaper. The service staff at Arrowhead Honda did a great job fixing up my car. When I went to pay for the service, the service guy informed me that I really need to get my brakes taken care of because they could give out any minute. I thanked them, paid, and headed home. I figured Id take my care into my mechanic later to get my brakes checked out.
This is where I have issues with Arrowhead Honda. When I take my car to my mechanic and have him look at the brakes, he tells me they are fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. I have more than 40% left on my pads, I specifically asked him to double check because Arrowhead really made it sound like something was wrong, and after looking over my car again...he tells me my brakes are great. I have to say that this really disappoints me, as the guys at Arrowhead Honda all seemed pretty nice. Now I have to wonder if there was anything wrong with the engine mounts either. I don't think that I could feel comfortable returning to Arrowhead Honda for service again or when it comes time for me to buy a new car in the next year or so. Especially knowing that they tried to cheat me out of $219 for my brakes.
Quality of work: 4 stars. They did a good job taking care of what needed to be done.
Friendliness of staff: 3 stars. Pleasant staff, pretty much what I expected.
Price: 3 stars. It's a dealership, so you expect to pay more.
Feeling like you didn't get ripped off: 0 stars.
Overall: 1 star. Good quality of work. I just wish I didn't feel like they were trying to scam me.
