  • My visit today was just horrible, the night before i arrived to donate i got my blood drawn from the hospital to get some tests run, so i had some visual scars and tape on my arm that might have looked funny and during the donation screening the young man BRAIN noticed them in the middle of my screening and he said "unfortunately your not going to be able to donate today" i asked him "WHY" and he said he needed the hospital paperwork from the night before and just ASSUMED i didn't have them, like they just enjoy telling people they cant donate. Very unprofessional I had my boyfriend go and get them from the car because they failed to go get a security guard to escort me outside and he already got screened and the lady which i assumed was a "manger" noticed he went to go get my paperwork and told him he had to cancel his visit and do the process all over again (which was such a waste of our time) also people do not go outside after you been screened or else you get kicked out! so when i presented my paperwork and it was right after they pricked my finger and without finishing any of my screening they sent me to the nurses office which the nurse was very nice and he wasn't so entitled like some of the staff that work there he explained to me that if my blood flow wasn't successful i will be deffer-ed for 57 days and possible blood clots which i didn't think i would have a problem with. After he was done the nurse sent me back to the screening table with BRAIN again and he had to do the screening process all over. Now by this time i was finally seated in the donation floor and i explained to the gentleman about my arm and he went and got the "manager" lady and she stayed to watch him "stick me" and obviously made him nervous to the point that he hurt me alot which usually they don't if they know what they are doing. i guess he missed the vein and they had to mess with it again which they think its okay to just DIG in my arm with a needle. Finally the gentleman went and got a senior and they have more experience with successfully finding a vein the senior lady stuck me again and the machine was green for about 5 minutes and it flipped back and fourth to no flow and low flow. it was very frustrating because it meant someone else had to come and mess with it again the thought of it made me want to cry i decided to leave early before i even got to finish i felt very upset that they would rather try to probe and dig in your arm then letting you go without any problems. it was too good to be true because they deffer-ed me for 57 days which i didn't even think twice to stay, i never want to come back again. i just don't think all that fuss and pain wasn't worth my 20 dollars and time being there especially when they make 1,000 for each of those plasma bottles . Yeah its helpful to donate because it saves lives but i also think people that would work there would be more considerate and make the time there welcoming instead of having all these policies and rules they just love to bring the donors down who are in need of some money its traumatic and i feel offended most of the time i am being talked to by staff i highly recommend you do your research if you want to be a first time donor and bring yourself to donate elsewhere than CSL Plasma.
