  • All I want to GRABBA is the TRASHA! Are you trying to KILL ME? This is yet another reason WHY YELP needs a negative star rating. Are you guys in Phoenix checking your taste buds at the door before entering and eating here? I have had more acai bowls than I can count. If you know me you KNOW I HATE NANAS! Thus this is ALWAYS a hurdle I must jump over when I want an acai bowl. That said I will lead you through the DIS-ASTER called an ACAI BOWL! I saw this place passing by while on a business trip. I can't remember where I was going but I filed it in my mental roller deck to check out. So I'm HANGRY and I stop near by to pick up a small salad. I remember this place so after I GRABBA-SALAD I GRABBAGREEN! And that is when everything went horribly WRONG! I park and walk in and the place is empty. I scan the menu and see acai bowl and ask what size they are. I was shown a smaller size that cost more than they do back home in SoCal and where they are much bigger. But ok I will go ahead and try one to go with my salad. I got the .... It came with mango, pineapple and coconut on top. I placed my order paid and watched as the young lady made my bowl. I was pretty clear to not use nanas and to use a different fruit like strawberries, raspberries instead. It didn't seem to be a problem when she rang me up. I watched as she made my acai bowl and they DON'T USE frozen acai. They use some sort of liquid acai. She didn't put in much but I figured she knew what she was doing. She did add what looked like a nana and a half. OMG this is going to be a hot NASTY MESS! As she was mixing I mentioned I didn't want nans and she said....oh I didn't add many it part of it. Ok I feel a smart azz coming on. Why can I not just get what I ORDERED and WHAT I PAID FOR! If it is going to be a problem then shouldn't the little BRAT have told me that when I was ordering and let me make the choice to NOT ORDER THAT and get something else? So ok she proceeds. When she was finished it was a BROWN UGLY SLOP! BROWN ! Who ever head of a BROWN acai bowl. Acai bowls are red-ish or burgundy in color, which is WHY they have the name ACAI! Also it should be the MAIN INGREDIENT NOT a minor ingredient! I took it back to my hotel and tried it. It was HORRID! It was some sort of NANA smoothie with mango and pineapple! WRETCHED! INTO THE ROUND FILE AKA TRASH! What an utter waste of moola! Is this what how Phoenix does acai bowls? If so they should all CLOSE UP SHOP ASAP! I guess you can tell I WILL NOT BE BACK! How DREADFUL!
