| - "We're not in Vegas anymore".
Welcomed by friendly staff all rushing about preparing and serving fragrant dishes of food. The small 25 seat, clean, homey restaurant with obligatory monitor playing the games, abuzz with diners speaking another tongue. You are the foreigner. Still, servers try to encourage you to try their favorites in broken English. The food arrives and thanks to "monkey see, monkey do", you know how to serve and share each dish. The owner / cook comes by and even if you don't understand Korean, you know she is asking how the food is. An enthusiastic "delicious", brings a huge smile, numerous bows, and she's back off.
A great dining experience offering a different taste of Korean food. This is healthy Korean comfort food. veggies abound. The only protein centric dish, meat jun. Hot and cold noodles, Korean dried ramen, and jook dominate the menu.
Tip: Portions are very large. Share everything. They are quick to provide soup ladles, bowls, and plates.
The mandoo deserves all the raves. Chicken based, not over stuffed. Excellent as "dumplings" in soups. Even better pan fried as a side dish. A little oily but the oil adds and textural contrast hard to beat.
Service is very friendly and efficient. .
A trip to Korea without the passport. Well worth it!
