I have visited this, 'what feels like "a window into the park", cosy neighbor cafe a number of times. The food is very fresh, 'local sourced ingredients, and they are the young sibling of the River Cafe on Princess Island Park. I like the Boxwood as it's casual, moderately priced, 'my food has always been creative, yummy, 'the staff are young & hip, and it always has a seat available. It feels very comfortable if you're hungry for great food and dining alone. The cafe has a decent selection of wines by the glass, 'again at a reasonable price and make sure you leave room for desert. The Boxwood is also right across the street for "Shelf Life Books" which is a very cool bookstore so the two work well together if you're having a personal "art afternoon" on your own or w. someone else. 4th Street SW nearby has other cool shopping so this is the perfect resting stop before or after your outing.
