  • I had never been to this Earth Fare until quite recently. It's on a convenient stretch for me and tucked right into the overwhelm of Ballantyne. I've been going to Whole Foods in South Park for quite a while now. Even with Amazon taking over, they're still pricey. Earth Fare is actually most of the same brands or quality (where the brands are different) for a much more affordable price. Everything Earth Fare brand is organic. I'm not a stickler for organics but if you were, I think this is a good place to find them. Tons of fresh fruits and veggies with both organic and "standard" to choose from. Lots of bulk dry goods that you can pour into your own jars. Mostly grains like rice and quinoa to name just a few of the many. There is also loose leaf tea - a huge win over Whole Foods in my opinion. Again, just bring your own jar. Make sure you have the tare weight available in pounds (tenths not ounces) for the cashier. They have quality meats and seafood in the back, again cheaper than Whole Foods. Specifically raw chicken breasts are most affordable here. And in my opinion, a better selection of beauty and hygiene products. One place they lack would be the hot bar. It's small and the quality is not good towards the end of the day. When compared to Whole Foods though, we're really just comparing rotten apples to rotten apples. The sushi though, is a win for Earth Fare on price! Since it's not entirely out of the way, I will probably be stopping through here more often in the future for my general grocery needs. But whether I go here or to Whole Foods, I'll inevitably end up at Harris Teeter to get certain things. Just food for thought, pun intended.
