| - I had the pleasure of visiting The Ballroom for the first time a couple weeks ago for a work social. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a regular bowler (last played circa 1990s), so I was wary about this place and particularly about bowling!
Our group rented two bowling lanes and had a section of the room, a small bar and a lunch buffet to ourselves. Ours was a large group, so we could've used more bowling lanes, especially since much of my time was spent watching others bowl. However, there was the option to play pool, which some engaged in enthusiastically.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed bowling (it helped that our team won!). The atmosphere was casual with good music and bar service. The food was alright. One significant issue was the lack of seating; several of us had to eat while standing, which is obviously not ideal. I would've preferred a private room for the buffet, separate from the bowling area.
I would come back to this place, but probably with a smaller group, or even for a fun date! It's pretty convenient not to have to trek to the 'burbs for 10-pin bowling says this downtown girl.
