  • I came looking for a solid shellac at a reasonable price. I'll admit I had a higher expectation based on the positive reviews, so I decided to give this a shot. Firstly, I couldn't find the place based on the directions on their website. I entered the Path exactly through the corner suggested; I wish the details on the website gave a marker, which I ended up obtaining once I called and apologized for being late. Luckily, the woman who answered the phone was kind and directed me (FYI: it's tucked in a hallway past the Lindt Store/Swarvoski!) While I appreciate that its in the Path and super accessible, I'd be remiss to not mention how surprised I was at how tiny the place was. I've been to other beauty bars in Toronto, and outside of it, so that was a bit surprising to me -- even with it being located in the Path. They seat you at a bar. I came for a 6pm appointment and it was completely full. They had a chair in the back for pedicures behind a small screen. It looked cozy. To be frank, this is not the place you come to relax and take your time. It is efficient and quick. If you are looking for that type of relaxing/pampering experience, I would pass. It was my first time doing a dry manicure, which I didn't mind. The lady performing my manicure was quite detailed and asked me about the shape/length of my nails. She was meticulous in applying the three coats. They had a wide selection of colours. Afterwards, I was offered a choice of a massage with lotion, or a scrub. I opted for the scrub, and was walked over, had it placed in my hand, and then I rinsed off in the sink. That was it. I ended right on time (45 minutes later) and paid. For the price ($39 pre-tax & tip), I felt it was just fine. It's not a slight to the location for working with its space, but it is definitely not as fulsome of an experience that I would expect to get for that price. Even with a dry manicure, perhaps offering both scrub then lotion would be a perk. The polish looks impeccable so I can't fault them on that. I think if you're okay with the parameters of this location, it'll suit you just fine. It's just not for me. :)
