So I went to Ashley's furniture during the week day just to check out the deals and specials. I worked with a sales associate and he was good with answering my questions. I didn't purchase anything that day and told him I would come back. A few days later I received a call from him in regards to a 25% off the entire store sale that was going on. So I went in and I found a mattress, bed, and dining set that I wanted to purchase. I got what I think is a decent deal and I left happy and excited about my new purchases. I set up a delivery date for the 29th of August and went to the movies a happy camper!
August 29th comes and I rush back from GSO to meet the delivery guy for my 2 clock delivery appointment. I get a automated call that my furniture is on the way and the driver will be there in ten minutes. I get to my apartment complex and I see no furniture truck. Thirty minutes go by still no call saying we are here. An hour goes by and I call customer service and this is when things starts to go downhill.
I lived a nicely restored loft in Gastonia and the drivers assumed the building was closed and no one lived there because there was a now leasing sign in the building. So no they didn't call to make sure they had to right address they just left an ignorant comment in the system and left. Even took pictures of the sign I guess they didn't see the cars parked outside of the building. So the lady stated they couldn't come back but a manager would call me on Monday.
So to make this story shorter the manager blames me for not looking out the window for the truck. I said I think I paid money to have a service completed and I'm sorry if me standing outside looking for a truck wasn't my role in this matter. I told them I need an afternoon appointment because I'm not taking off work to get furniture that should have been delivered on the weekend and I need the furniture before Labor Day weekend because I'm expecting guest. He said he couldn't make promises. I told him you can't make a promise but I can and I will cancel this order and get my 2500 dollars back. So they showed up Friday with just my bed and not my dining table.
They finally delivered the dining table with the wrong height stools. I then was told I ordered one chair. Who orders one chair. No you dummy your sales associate put in the system one chair and I'm not paying anymore money. The sales manager was extremely rude and made it seemed as if he was offering me a deal when he added in the three chairs free and waived my delivery charges.
Please do not purchase furniture from this location. I know it's hard being they are one of the inky few furniture store stores in Gastonia. But customer service isn't a priority here they fault the customer even though their associates didn't follow the process!
