  • The first question that popped into my head when I pulled into the parking lot of Quality Inn was, "What kind of quality?" Because there's no qualifier there, and saying something has quality is like saying, food is edible. Well... Yeah... Even terrible food can be edible. Just like everything has a quality. My pants have a "quality" attached to them. It doesn't do much to describe whether the quality is something that I enjoy. Sorry, I take things literally... And go on tangents. My short stay (Friday and Saturday nights) has helped me to determine that the "quality" of Quality Inn is... ::makes shoulder shrugging motion:: Nothing was bad. Nothing was great. Actually, check that. The customer service was great. Really great. I had pretty much given up on the idea of Canadians being friendly; at least, that's been my experience in Toronto, but every employee interaction at Quality Inn gave me a glimpse of some of that famous Canadian kindness that I grew up with in my younger days but have not seen in recent visits. As far as the room is concerned; it was fine. Nothing extraordinary. The facilities were clean (from what I could gather), and they stocked things pretty quickly after I used them (not the coffee though, they didn't restock that). The shower-head was kind of weak, but the hot water kept flowing. The AC/Heat options were either "On" or "Off" so either I was super hot by morning, or super cold. I'm not sure if it was a combination of the cold weather outside and the heat inside the room, but my sinuses were way out of whack by the time I checked out. But there's not really much that can be done about that. Not unless you plan on carrying a humidifier with you everywhere you go. TV and wi-fi; I don't know, because I was really only in the room to shower and sleep. Actually, check that. I did peruse my email, and even made a call using Google Voice so yes to free wi-fi. The establishment does look a little dated but considering the prices were $50ish a night, I can't complain. Well I could, but I won't. So to answer my initial question, the quality is "A-OK" but somehow, I can't imagine, "A-OK Quality Inn" would have much luck in drawing in new customers. P. S. The coffee by the front door was surprisingly decent. I'm not sure why that surprises me though...
