  • This hotel (motel) is hands-down the worst I have ever stayed in. I booked it through Orbitz, where it was listed as a 3-Star hotel and was elated to be getting a great deal... of course it was too good to be true. The entrance/office was absolutely nothing like the pictures... you sort of had to stretch your imagination to see the semblance from the pictures. The rooms were simply drab, complete with hideously patterned sheets and curtains (I can't place what decade they were from). The pillows: imagine a $3.00 Walmart pillow, that has been used 50 times. The room also had an annoying odor, like an old abandoned warehouse. The window A/C unit was one of those from the 1960's (may be not quite that old), with shabby faded wood panelling, and it was plugged into a socket that was falling off the wall. The TV: half the stations were static ridden images. The room was connected to a balcony- (a shared one). But, you guessed it.... you would not want to step into the balcony or leave your dog roaming there... Of course it smelt pretty bad because it was covered in a lime green carpet, that had not been cleaned in maybe 5 years. And do not be deceived by the free breakfast. I was dreaming of a continental spread with eggs, sausage... Far from it, the fruit basket contained 20% soft rotting apples, the bread tray- the bread seemed recycled from 3 days (think of the hardened texture of bread that has been left out overnight). Needless to say I was too scared to try the coffee or milk; all I could stomach was the orange juice. As far as location: The only plus is that it is close to a train stop, with easy access to downtown. Otherwise, there are couple of other motels in the area and nothing else; I mean NOTHING. Here are the only positives: Thankfully the sheets seemed clean and there were no roaches or rats; the bathroom was decent; and the wireless internet worked. Please do not fall for this miserable place. I payed $85 for the night and wanted all but 100 pennies back. I have not stayed in a 1-star motel, but I suspect this place will make some 1-star places look stellar. I know its sort of a harsh review, but it is completely true to my experience there. Give it a try and you'll see for yourself!
