Jeni's creates the absolutely most delicious ice cream I've ever had. Seriously. EVER. Admittedly, Jeni's is more expensive than chain ice cream shops or the mom-and-pop on the corner; however, I personally don't mind paying for quality. Jeni's uses uber fresh ingredients and has flavors you won't find anywhere else. My personal favorite is the Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet--a light, bright sorbet that turns into a perfect palate cleanser after any meal. I also prefer the perennial Middle West Whiskey Eggnog: Snap it up if it's available!
This particular location was incredibly crowded for a Saturday afternoon in the middle of winter. It's also rather small, so be prepared to take your ice cream with you. Fortunately, there are plenty of quaint boutiques along the street--convenient for window shopping. The servers are friendly, helpful and prepared to describe in depth any of the store's many flavors. Not sure what you want? Just ask for a taste!
I made a 45-minute drive for this ice cream, and I'll be sure to do it again soon.
