A friend organized a "welcome home" party for another friend at this place. I had never been before, and when we walked in I was really impressed. It felt like you were at a secret venue from the 1920s. Then we were smacked back to reality with the $10 cover charge (it was a Saturday night). The place was completely packed with a wide range of people all having fun. Unfortunately that made it hard to talk to the people we had come with, but given that the purpose of the venue is to showcase live music that's not the venue's fault. The only place we could find to stand was near the kitchen, so I felt like we were constantly in the way. And when I tried to go to the bathroom, I learned that you had to go past the stage which was literally impossible at that point as it was so packed I could not find a way to get through. A good place to go if you are into big band music, not such a great place if you want to be able to chat with your friends.
