  • The fiancĂ© and I go here regularly. Cuban food holds a special place in my heart and when the embargo is finally lifted, I will be the first person on a plane to Havana! I always try to get a different dish when I go there, but I always make sure that I get a mojito, a Cuban coffee, and the bread pudding. Meal: If you are new to Cuban, stick with the staple rice and chicken. You can't go wrong. And anything with rum. But whatever you do, end the meal with a Cuban coffee and bread pudding. The bread pudding here is the best in Arizona. Taste: So this isn't the best Cuban food that I have ever had. It doesn't really push the envelope when it comes to seasoning or unique ingredients. But that's ok! It does the simple things very well. I have never had a bad meal at this place and on occasion, I have had that type of meal where you think about it on the way home! 9 out of 10. Value: I spend way too much here. I rarely get booze and dessert in the same meal at other restaurants, but its a given that I will get both when I go here. My bill is always pretty big so its hard for me to really comment about value. But what I do know is that I never walk away hungry and I never felt let down after I get the bill. 4 out of 5. Service/Cleanliness: Service is always great. The servers are always warm, friendly, and attentive. They aren't presumptuous. Very helpful and their recommendations are always spot on. 9 out of 10. Atmosphere: Decor is cheesy and the lawn chairs aren't comfortable. But that is what kind of adds to the charm of the place. They have live music every once in a while and during the spring, you can sit out on the patio and look at the stars while drinking mojitos. To me, it doesn't get much better than that when dining in Phoenix. 5 out of 5. Overall: If you haven't been here, make it happen this weekend. This place is a nice break from the pace of eating Mexican 24/7. Weekends and happy hours are the best time to go. 27 out of 30 points, 5 out of 5 stars.
