  • In three words - Rude, incompetent, and dishonest... Let me start by saying in the last 3 years I spent close to $2000 on glasses at this store. After my last purchase I'm never shopping there again... I was in the market for vision glasses for my bad eyes last December. So I figured I'd stop by LensCrafters to take a look at their selection. I was greeted by someone who was trying to help out another customer at the time. The other staff were idling, texting, and talking about wrestling and didn't approach me or offer to help. I figured maybe they were just trying to give me some space. No biggie. So I decided on a frame and as soon as i picked up the frame and walked to the counter, I got everybody's attention and suddenly everyone was so eager to help me to win an effortless sale. They did the typical frame sizing stuff and I requested polished edges for my lenses and a brand new frame. I also got their eyewear protection plan. 2 weeks later got a call that glasses were ready. So I went to pick them up. As soon as I saw them I noticed the glasses didn't have the polished edges that I originally requested and payed for so I told the fellow. He took the glasses inside to have the edges polished. 10 minutes later they were ready but the edges looked like they weren't polished too well, and the frame looked like it was the demo frame. I let it slide because I didn't want to wait another 2 weeks for a new pair. Couple weeks go by and I discover that my health benefits card that I presented at time of purchase would have provided me a better discount than the store discount that I got at the time. Essentially I paid 15% more than I should have. So I called up the store to speak to the manager (Patrick) to explain. He was hesitant to help but asked me to come to the store to get the credit. I show up at the store the next day. Presented my health benefits card and receipt and asked to get a refund for the difference. He accused me of "double dipping" and "insurance fraud" because I requested the discount. I explained to him that I'm entitled to the discount under my benefits plan. He wouldn't listen and insisted that I can't get the discount and file an insurance claim at the same time. So I called my plans customer service to get them to verify. Put him on the phone with them and they explained it exactly the way I did. He hung up and got so uptight and bitter because he had to refund me the difference. As he was processing the refund he accused me again of double dipping (that's after myself and 2 other people from my plans customer service explained to him how my benefits work). We agreed to disagree. Then he claimed I was very rude to him (when I'm the customer and I'm the one that got offended by his accusations). I apologized to him and explained to him that his accusations to a long time customer were very offensive. He refused to apologize, processed the refund, kept saying that I double dipped. That's when I said thank you, good bye, and you'll never get my business again. Never again Lenscrafters Southcentre. I will go out of my way to take my business elsewhere.
