I don't know how often you check your reviews but I have to share my experience. I had my first brain surgery on July 10 and lost my sense of taste and smell from the traumatic brain injury and subsequent infection. When I was released from the hospital the second time we visited your establishment s few times as I tried to resume a "normal" life but nothing has really tasted like much for the last two months. I've been able to taste "sweet" and "salt" when there are chemicals like msg involved but food and drinks have basically tasted no better than dirt. I had another surgery last Thursday, this time to remove the infected piece of skull and clean out the YUCK from my brain. Friday morning I had black coffee and for the first time I could taste food again and that coffee was fantastic. I stayed in that hospital until yesterday morning and the normally bland hospital food was wonderful. The only thing I could think to do when leaving the hospital yesterday was to visit PHAT Phranks and test out my new taste buds but unfortunately time prevented that from occurring. Today I waited patiently until we could visit and I just finished my first green Chile smothered burrito. OH MY GOD! I WANT TO CRY :) THANK YOU SO MUCH! It was a long two months without taste buds. I still can't smell anything- that may be a few months or never until that comes back but there were indications early today that it's returning slowly. THE BEST THING I'VE PUT IN MY MOUTH ON OVER TWO MONTHS! I can't come back on the same schedule I once visited you guys but I will definitely be looking forward to my next visit. You guys are always so nice to me and my family and the food is delicious. Thank you again. I even think the twelve year old decided today he loved that green Chile burrito which is saying a lot considering he usually thinks ketchup is too spicy :)
