Beautiful!! This 3-4 mile hike up and down the trail is a goodie. It's a moderate hike, there's a few decent inclines and slightly difficult footing in a couple areas, but worth it. There's trees and fresh air and I forget for a time that we were in LV desert 30 minutes before.
There's a few places to sit down and rest or eat a snack, bring water as you will definitely feel the hike. It's a nice reprieve from the dusty, hot LV as it's usually 15 degrees or more cooler up in Mt Charleston.
After the hike, stop by the Charleston Lodge for a gigantic soft pretzel or a beer. Or real food if you want. More great views and weekends there's usually a cool band playing.
