  • If you've never been here before, just go. Unless you don't like fried food - in which case, yeah probably avoid this joint. The catfish / catfish nuggets are BOMB - and I don't have much to compare it to not having had much catfish, but the seasoning and flavor are out of this world. The mac n' cheese was good and so were the greens but I didn't care for the okra (mushy) or the coleslaw (he puts sweet relish in it - and sweet relish ruins anything for me)... hush puppies were worth trying - but you absolutely must try the catfish. I tried one of his wings - and it's not your average wing - it's practically half the damn bird. Again, the seasoning was perfect and it was cooked to perfection. We were greeted and our order was taken by Papa Joe himself. Whenever I meet a local business owner who knows his product is money and yet remains humble and down to earth I'm instantly a fan. He had a few recommendations - which reminds me, they have like four different kinds of Kool-Aid on tap and I suggest the cherry limeade. This place is legit and I will most definitely be back!!
