My friends and I needed a place to stay near the Phoenix airport before driving to Sedona and chose to stay at Budget Downtown. We booked two rooms, each with two beds, for the six of us thinking that we'd have plenty of room. Instead, we stayed in two rooms that each had one bed. They had one cot that they put in one room but in the other room one of our group had to sleep on the floor! After getting home, I called the manager three times about remedying the situation. I spoke to him once and he told me that he'd get back to me but never did. I'm not sure if the issue lies with Hotels.com or with Budget Downtown. I do know that neither should be advertising rooms with two beds if they can't accommodate the request. The family that checked in after us was also short of bed space. If you need only one bed, you may be happy with this hotel but I really don't know why this hotel rated higher than any of the other "budget" type hotels. The breakfast is pretty meager and I'm surprised that they can get away with saying they have one. At the hotel counter they have yogurt, packaged muffins, fruit, and packaged cookies. It works as long as you aren't expecting more. If you're looking for a budget room stay somewhere less expensive where you'll at least get the bed space you need.
