  • JUST DON'T!! I travel extensively and have a high tolerance with bad hotels, but this one pegged the meter. I wish I had read Bridget's review first. It's spot on, but she was being nice. I booked through Hotels.com and rarely have an issue. That said , I'll disclose the ending and tell you Hotels.com refunded me my room and more. Top notch company. Now the details. Got to hotel and they said no room was ready. This is a Wednesday and the place was deserted. Driving up in the Uber we thought it was closed down because there was not ONE car in the parking lot! I'd been better off it had been. So I waited for a room and in the meantime , I saw a flea jump off of my bag. I'm sitting on a very worn sofa which has a make shift carpet in front. It looks like it was cut from a bigger piece. I assumed the flea came from there and moved my bags on the cement floor. Which everywhere is cement. Not even stained to hide the old carpet glue and tack strip trails. So I get my room and because the lobby bathroom was out of service I really needed to take a leak. I did. Toilet didn't flush. Looking around the room, I just started itching. I decided to look at the mattress and sheets like the seasoned traveler does in questionable places. The covers were stained with several "round" spots. I pulled the cover and top sheet back and there was plane as day , a bed bug AND...... the cap off of a syringe!!!!!! I'm done, I immediately jumped on hotels.com and booked a sure fire better room , having confidence that Hotels.com would understand, and Ubered to sanity at the Extended Stay. The hotel told Hotels.com they would not refund the money because I didn't complain. But there was NOTHING they could have done to satisfy me, that's for sure. No way another room would suffice. So, Hotels.com took my side and gave me a gift certificate that MORE than made up for the money they kept. Bottom line...JUST DON'T.
