| - My standards for diner food are really high and this place is cheap but it just didn't cut it.
Nice service, no wait even though it was busy this morning.
I went with the standard breakfast, nothing fancy, ordered eggs over easy with toast and hashbrowns and opened up my book to study. I was able to read about half a page before my breakfast was brought out to me. Now this immediately raises alarm bells in my head b/c I know that the majority of my meal was probably just seating under heatlamps from the night before or from really early in the morning. It probably took them about 2 minutes to get my plate to me from the time I placed my order.
Eggs over easy? This still means that the whites should be fully cooked, the "over easy" part refers to the yolk. "Toast" was barely toasted, more like a couple slices of warmed Rye with some butter on it. And the hashbrowns didn't even compare favorably to McD's hashbrowns, they were hard, barely seasoned and had about 5 small chunks of green pepper in them...uh, if you're going to add green pepper, add it, or just leave it out completely, don't tease people!
So, maybe I caught the cook on a bad day, but I'd rather pay a couple of dollars extra and get a decent breakfast than go cheap and unsatisfied....
