  • My boyfriend and I were introduced to Globe Cinema when we attended the Calgary Underground Film Festival. I found the Cinema to be rather quaint and very cozy! Definitely a better experience than the Cineplex can give you. We got punch passes and ended up seeing 5 movies during CUFF. I was very impressed with the Underground Film Festival. The movies we saw ranged from horror to comedy but they were all very interesting. They have two theatres and although they are a little dated, they are very comfortable and have lots of room. The concession is not large either but since we are from out of town we always got supper before we headed over to the theatre. I do not think this place is handicap friendly however, considering how many stairs there are. The bathrooms are at the bottom of some really narrow stairs and are fairly tiny as well. (Not an issue for me, but could be for some people). We also attended Calgary International Film Festival here as well. There was other theatres showing movies and yet we only wanted to attend ones at the Globe Cinema. Once you go the first time, you will want to return here quickly. Great experience & wonderful, friendly staff!!!
