I had an incredible experience at the Apple store. I was in a rough position, my LCD screen broke on my two-month old iPhone 6S but the screen was not cracked. I could not use the phone at all, there were lines everywhere. It got to the point where I was asking strangers what time it was.. obviously I needed help.
Although the store was incredibly busy I was able to make an appointment at the genius bar and was tended to after an hour of waiting. The genius (Katie, I believe) took her time with me and did not rush. She heard me out and empathized to my situation and was incredibly genuine and human. I had dropped my phone off of the nightstand (completely my fault but a ridiculous way to completely make a phone useless) and it was pretty much brand new. I had already visited the ATT store where they told me my only option was to buy a new one at the full retail price. NO. I went to the Apple store not expecting much. Katie understood my concerns and asked me about the last time I had backed up my phone. Since I was pretty much out of storage, the last time my iCloud updated was a year ago. Katie carefully explained that I needed to go home to buy more iCloud storage, plug my phone into the charger, wait for wifi to automatically connect, and await for the next iCloud backup to go through..so that I CAN SWAP MY PHONE OUT FOR FREE?!!! What?! I expected to have to pay a lot of money to have the LCD replaced to have my phone back to normal in about a week. Katie was saying that they usually don't do this, that they won't do this again, but they will swap out my phone with a brand new one as soon as the backup went through. I was shocked. Why would they do this? I didn't ask questions and followed her instructions. I was absolutely exalted, Apple helped me when I was vulnerable and in need and I haven't stopped raving. Amazing customer service indeed.
