Its not Caesar's Palace. However, its 1/4 of the price and you can't beat the location, dead center strip across from Caesars and very close to the Bellagio.
PROS
*Very affordable
*Excellent location
*Clean
*Wildlife habitat is very nice and a little different. There are a few tables so you can sit and have a cup of coffee in the am and relax in a very nice setting.
*Pool is awesome, better than many more expensive hotels
*Casino is usually lively
*Beds are very comfy, not too hard, not too soft
*"Burger Joint", a new restaurant in the Flamingo is pretty darn good. Its a lower end rip off of the Burger Bar in Mandalay. The decor is really cute, black and white with hot pink and you can mix and match burgers, buns and toppings. Very tasty.
CONS
*Old, tired decor, ugly motel style bathrooms. Shower curtains (ick!)
*Housekeeping needs some serious work. Nothing was dirty, but the housekeeping seemed lazy. Our first night they failed to show up! We were missing an ice bucket. Often they would take the dirty towels but not replace all of them. Refills of toiletries were skimpy.
*Room service wasn't great. There was an hour and a half wait for food at midnight. When we got our food, it tasted like it had been sitting around. It was edible, but not worth room service prices. We ordered chicken wings, fries and chicken fingers (hard and over battered). Sandwiches and breakfast are probably a better bet. There is no 24 hour cafe so room service is the only option late at night.
*The curtains don't block the light completely like they do in most hotels. This was annoying, I like a really dark room to sleep.
Bottom line: it isn't very fancy and you don't get superior service, but its more than adequate for the price. We stayed during the 4th of July weekend and it was really cheap. If you're very picky, spring for a higher end place, but more easy going people will get a great bargain.
